Are there changes you'd make to your life if you could?
Hypnotherapy gives you the ability to make those changes. Hypnotherapy puts the conscious part of your mind into a relaxed state, rather like when you are daydreaming, which then allows access to the subconscious. This allows us to work together to ensure that both your conscious and subconscious are working towards the same goals. We often find that although we want to make change the subconscious would prefer to keep things the way they are, it perceives that familiarity is safer than making changes, even if those changes will ultimately improve your life.
Hypnotherapy is a safe, gentle way of making those changes. As the client you are always aware and in control of the direction the therapy takes. A typical session would include talking about your goals and achievements, about the positives in your life. I practice Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Quite simply, this means we don't delve into the past, or talk about what caused the behaviours or situation you would like to change, we concentrate on the future, on your preferred future and how this future can and will become a reality for you. We would then distract your conscious mind with pleasant images and relaxation techniques and focus your subconscious on your preferred future through hypnosis. In this way the subconscious will begin working towards your preferred outcome.
An explanation of how the mind works and a reminder of the power of positive thinking and positive action can often be the first step towards making positive change and therefore forms the basis of the free Initial Consultation I will offer you as a client. You will also be given a free relaxation CD to enable you to reduce your stress levels overall on a day to day basis.
